CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

 2008 ANNUAL CONFERENCE

Philadelphia :November 17-19, 2008

Collaborative Innovations in Public Health:  Forming A More Perfect Union

The Pennsylvania Public Health Association invites individuals to submit abstracts for paper presentations, poster sessions and workshops at our 2008 Annual Conference being held Monday, November 17 through Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at the Loews Hotel in Philadelphia.   As reflected in the array of public health issues represented at past annual conferences, a wide range of health-related abstracts are welcome.  We are especially encouraging topics related to Healthy People 2010 national health objectives and this year’s conference theme of collaborative public health efforts.

PAPER PRESENTATIONS are 20-minute presentations given to an audience.  The presentation should be 15 minutes long, with 5 minutes for questions and answers, for a total of 20 minutes per paper.  A paper includes a description of the issue/problem, methods, findings, conclusions, and practical implications or recommendations for implementation.  The papers will be organized in a session containing presentations of similar topics.  Three to four papers will be grouped into a session.  Each session will have an assigned moderator who will introduce the topics and speakers, as well as keep the speakers on schedule.

Those interested in coordinating a panel around a particular theme are also encouraged to contact the Review Committee at the email address below.

POSTER SESSIONS are visual displays of a project or research on poster boards.  A poster includes an abstract, methods, results and findings, conclusions and practical implications or recommendations for implementation.  The presenter will be assigned a specific time to present the poster.
